25 days to OCC Championships...

The New Albany Cross Country team competed in two events this past week. On Wednesday 9/16, the Junior Varsity team competed against 4 other schools at the Northridge Invitational. Placing 2nd overall and leading the Eagles to a team victory was Drew Rose in a time of 18:04.

On Saturday 9/19, the Varsity and Reserve Teams competed at the Central Ohio Invitational hosted by Bishop Hartley. Some highlights of this past weekend are as follows:
  • Boy's Varsity - 5th out of 11 teams. 37 points out of first (Westerville Central 62 pts.) and only 17 points out of 2nd. Team Average of 17:08.
  • Boy's Reserve - 1st out 13 teams. Team Average of 18:27 (better than last year's varsity!)
  • Congratulations to 2 of our freshman. Drew Rose won the Reserve race in 17:33, while Austin Bach (4th for varsity in 17:30) was named Most Outstanding Freshman.
  • Competing against two league teams, the score versus Big Walnut as a dual would have been New Albany - 24 pts., Big Walnut - 37 pts. Against Olentangy Orange, the score would have been New Albany - 15 pts., Olentangy Orange - 50 pts.
This week the boy's and girl's cross country teams will be competing at the Pickerington Central Tiger Invitational. The schedule will go as follows:
  • Report to school: 9:00 a.m.
  • Bus Leaves: 9:15 a.m.
  • Reserve Warm-Up: 10:10
  • Reserve Race: 11:00
  • Varsity Warm-Up: 11:30
  • Varsity Race: 12:20
  • Leave Pickerington: approximately 1:15
  • Return to NAHS: 2:00 p.m.
The following runners will be running Varsity this weekend:

4. Austin Bach
5. Kraig Manion
6. Drew Rose
7. Kyle Manion

Any runner not on the Varsity Roster will be competing in the Reserve Race at 11:00 a.m.
